Women don't want to have kids anymore
This idea sparks controversy because noticeably as generations pass women are having fewer and fewer kids. Historically women having children wasn't because family relationships were a necessity or to make memories or the idea that you could make a human and raise someone. While watching them evolve into their persona. Having children was to strengthen the population count to guarantee more help in the future. Now that women have an option between being domesticated and having their life's purpose tied to creating humans and caring for them some decide to live out their aspirations like not staying at home. Starting businesses going on vacations are aspirations too. In our society that is perceived as selfish. Women are still treated as if the role is to be a caretaker as if their aspirations must go out the window all of the time they have to prioritize caring about everybody but themselves. They must remain kept to keep a man they must remain patient and ambitious to raise kids but not to adhere to their own goals. I'm not writing this to diminish anyone's narrative of what a mother should be or what a women should be. I'm writing this for the Christina Yang's , Fiona Ghallager's, Meredith Gray's, and Annalise Keating's of the world (I see you). Women who want more out of life women who have aspirations and take the steps to reach them whether that is with children or without children. I'm writing this for the women who love children but aren't ready for children, women who are physically unable to have children, and women who don't have biological children but raise their siblings and don't want to do it again. There's a multitude of reasons why not every woman wants to be a mother and rather than judge women maybe we should ask why we put so much pressure on them to constantly be in alignment with the patriarchy. This narrative is misogynistic. I just find it unfortunate that we are seen as precious so long as we're contributing to others more than ourselves. Women are liked the most when we're serving others but God help if we're self-serving we're prettier when we cook we're prettier when we look like we don't even have kids but let us be proud of our bodies and know we have no class. Then we need to cover up we need to know how to take care of ourselves but not to the point where your overly independent we need to know how to ask for help but not so much that we're clingy. We must be confident all while taking into consideration everyone's two cents on our hair, skin tone, features, and voice. Being a woman is full of responsibilities full of expectations and lack thereof at the same time. I hope people see that more.
