Pressure is a privilege
The other day, I was on my way to class, and I walked past a guy wearing a hoodie that said 'Pressure is a Privilege' on it. I thought the phrase was cool and promotes a healthy mindset. What an empowering way to perceive adversity. Thinking that it is an honor to encounter an obstacle allows you to surpass it with Maureen's. I looked up the phrase and found out that it was coined by Billie Jean King. She said you earn triumphs and freedom. This has me thinking of all the quotes that are famous and widely used, renowned even, and we don't even know who they're from. Nelson Mandela received credit for this quote: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure." The quote is from Marianne Williamson’s book A Return to Love. The phrase conveys how people self-sabotage because they're worried about their underlying brilliance. It's their potential genius that paralyzes them, not insecurity.
